Dr. Maria Montessori started her educational career when she started Casa dei Bambini in 1908. With her medical and engineering knowledge and background, she developed the philosophy that educates many children worldwide. The Montessori method is a child-based pedagogy that supports child development. Certified Montessori teachers "follow the child" and prepare the classrooms with didactic materials that motivate and cultivate children's learning. In the Montessori classroom, children learn order, coordination, concentration, and independence to support their lifelong learning journey, "education for life." The skills and knowledge they learn will prepare their academic learning. Young children learn through play, and we plan the curriculum based on their interests, knowledge, and skills.
"Play is the work of the child."
