I have been working with children in Early Childhood for over thirty-three years. I have worked with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary students. I started my home-licensed daycare, Miss Mak's Playhouse, in 2000 after working with kindergarteners for nine years at Maryknoll Grade School. I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a Montessori Certification, licensed to teach PK-K. I am now home-based with a Family Home Care license with the Montessori Philosophy.  

As a Montessori educator, I believe in the inherent capabilities of children when the environment and curriculum are thoughtfully prepared. My experience as an educator and a parent has reinforced the Montessori principle of "following the child." I understand that each child is unique, and I strive to teach and guide them with utmost respect and patience, believing that the best way to care for them is to teach them the skills to take care of themselves. Young children have the absorbent mind to learn and are very capable when the appropriate opportunities and tools are provided.

I am passionate about engaging in activities that support children's development. I love to travel, do crafts, bake, and cook. I enjoy planning activities such as arts & crafts, music, cooking, and excursions. These activities not only make learning fun but also help children develop their skills and knowledge. I believe the best way to educate young children is by "learning through play."
